CHINA “U.F.O.” – SPECIAL REPORT

What we have about a certain object seen over China, are press reports.

We do not have direct testimonies of witnesses –a task for Chinese investigators— and, so far, we also lack of an official report.

The event happened on the night of July 7, at approximately 9pm. local time. Originally it was reported by a pilot, who found the phenomenon on the air, and by authorities of the local airport.
PRLog says: “The UFO was first detected by a crew of about 8.40, notification of air traffic control.”

But the news only came out on July 15. Therefore, there was a delay of 8 days for the news to reach the public of the World.

According to the Daily Mirror of July 16: “Arcing over Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou, the UFO appeared to glow with an eerie white light and left a bright trail in its wake. Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at around 9 pm and dozens of flights had to be diverted.”

Other source establishes that the airport remained closed for one hour.

Dealing with the news reported by the press, the first thing that we realized was that there were apparently two different phenomena, or two different characteristics of the phenomena when we compared still picture (left), and a video (right).










This was clarified days later. In the edition of July 19, 2010 of “The Atlantic Home” it is reported that Geoffrey Forden, an M.I.T. weapons analyst said:

"Unfortunately, this video is not from Hangzhou but from Kazakhstan and was taken on June 30th and shows a Progress M launch from the Baikonur," Forden said. The rocket seen here, in other words, was a routine launch to resupply the International Space Station. "It looks so strange because the upper stages have already left the earth’s atmosphere and the plume has expanded to many kilometers. It's very unusual to see this from the Earth's surface (and very interesting since it shows the transition from one stage to another) but it is not a black-ops rocket at all."

Nevertheless, what was really seen by the control tower operators and authorities at the Xiaoshan airport is not totally compatible with the pictures obtained by the press.

Probably the most important piece of information comes directly from one source of the airport-

“There was an unknown object seen in the skies over the airport. So according to our regulations we had to close the airspace. Aircraft movements were suspended from 8:45 PM to 9:41 pm.”

Reporter: “Airport staff say the first reports of the UFO came in just after 8 PM from both air traffic controllers and civilians. The object at the center of the commotion, visible as a light in the sky, was captured in this photo.

It may not look like much but it does not belong to a civilian aircraft. Nor does it match the flight plan of any aircraft supposed to be operating in the area at the time. ….

“Ruan Zhoucheng said there were few eyewitnesses because the incident occurred at night. When most staff members were not present and passengers were in the waiting hall.”

Ruan Zhoucheng [through interpreter]: “I heard that some of the passengers whose flights just landed saw the object which appeared as glowing light[s]. It was not a normal civil aviation flight. What it actually was, no one knows.”

LaLate, a web page reported that: “……a source told China Daily News that officials with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) had determined the identity of the UFO. The source added that CAAC couldn’t release the information because “there was a military connection.”

Also the Daily Mail reported on July 16 that: “Chinese officials later said that they knew what the object had been but were unable to make it public because there was a 'military connection.' An official statement is expected later today.” But the official statement never came, so far.

Forden, the M.I.T. weapons analyst said that “the likeliest scenario, it turns out, is that the Great Twinkling Light of Hangzhou was actually a Chinese ballistic missile, the DF-21.”

Maybe was this missile. But it could also have been a new and secret airplane or UAV that the Chinese were testing.

From this poll it is clear a difference of 11.46% in favor of a Chinese military exercise, over the Extraterrestrial life. This is outstanding; it is really a good sign that the mentality of the people is changing.

Moreover, if we sum-up the percentages of the Chinese military exercise, the Foreign satellite or spy plane, and the Natural phenomenon, they overcome the Extraterrestrial life explanation by an overwhelming 30.98%, taking into consideration that there is a significant 21.66% that has Not a clue.

“O.V.N.I.” DE CHINA – INFORME ESPECIAL

Lo que tenemos acerca de un cierto objeto visto sobre China, son informes de prensa.

No tenemos testimonios directos de los testigos –una tarea para los investigadores chinos-- y hasta ahora, también carecemos de un informe oficial.

El suceso tuvo lugar en la noche del 7 de Julio, aproximadamente a las 9pm. Hora local. Originalmente fue denunciado por un piloto, que encontró el fenómeno en el aire, y por autoridades del aeropuerto local.

PRLog dice: “El OVNI fue primero detectado por una tripulación aproximadamente a las 8:40, notificación del control de tráfico aéreo.”

Pero la noticia recién llegó a conocerse el 15 de Julio. Por lo tanto, hubo una demora de 8 días para que la noticia llegara al público del mundo.

Según el Daily Mirror del 16 de Julio. “Trazando un arco sobre Hangzou, la capital provincial de Zhejiang, el OVNI pareció brillar con una fantasmagórica luz blanca y dejó una estela brillante a su paso. El Aeropuerto Xiaoshan fue cerrado luego que el OVNI fuese detectado a alrededor de las 9pm y decenas de vuelos tuvieron que ser desviados.”

Otra fuente establece que el aeropuerto permaneció cerrado por una hora.

Manejando la noticia informada por la prensa, la primera cosa que nos dimos cuenta fue que aparentamente había dos fenómenos diferentes, o dos características diferentes del fenómeno si comparamos la foto (izquierda) y un video (derecha)










Esto fue aclarado días después. En la edición del 19 de Julio de 2010 del “The Atlantic Home” se informa que Geoffrey Forden, un analista de armas del M.I.T. dijo:

“Lamentablemente este video no es de Hangzhou sino de Kazajstán y fue tomado el 30 de Junio y muestra el lanzamiento de Progreso M desde Baikonur”, dijo Forden. El que se ve aquí, en otras palabras, fue un lanzamiento de rutina para reaprovisionar a la Estación Espacial Internacional. “Parece tan extraño porque las etapas superiores ya han dejado la atmósfera terrestre y la pluma se ha expandido a muchos kilómetros. Es muy inusual ver esto desde la superficie de la Tierra (y muy interesante dado que muestra la transicion de una etapa a otra) pero no es en manera alguna un cohete de alguna operación secreta.”

Sin embargo, lo que realmente se vio por los operadores de la torre de control y autoridades en el aeropuerto Xiaoshan, no es totalmente compatible con las fotos obtenidas por la prensa.

Probablemente la pieza más importante de información provenga directamente de una fuente del aeropuerto.

“Hubo un objeto desconocido visto en el cielo sobre el aeropuerto. Entonces de acuerdo a nuestras normas teníamos que cerrar el espacio aéreo. Los movimientos de los aviones se suspendieron desde las 8:45PM hasta las 9:41pm.”

Periodista: “El personal del aeropuerto dice que los primeros infomes del OVNI llegaron apenas después de las 8PM tanto de los controladores de tráfico aéreo como de los civiles. El objeto en el centro de la conmoción, visible como una luz en el cielo, fue captado en esta foto.

Puede no lucir mucho pero no pertenece a un avión civil. Tampoco corresponde a ningún plan de vuelo de ningún aparato que se supone esté operando en esta área en el momento…

“Ruan Zhoucheng dijo que hubo pocos testigos porque el incidente ocurrió de noche. Cuando la mayoría de los empleados no estaban presentes y los pasajeros estaban en la sala de espera.”

Ruan Zhoucheng [mediante intérprete]: “Escuché que algunos de los pasajeros cuyos vuelos acababan de aterrizar vieron el objeto que parecía como una luz brillante. No era un vuelo de aviación civil normal. Lo que realmente era, nadie lo sabe.”

La página web LaLate, informó que: “…..una fuente declaró al China Daily News que funcionarios de la Administración de Aviación Civil de China (CAAC) habían determinado la identidad del OVNI. La fuente añadió que el CAAC no podía dar a conocer la información porque “había una conexión militar”.

También el Daily Mail informó que: “Funcionarios chinos posteriormente dijeron que sabían qué había sido el objeto pero no podían hacer eso público porque había una ‘conexión militar’. Una declaración oficial se espera hoy más tarde.” Pero la declaración oficial nunca ocurrió, hasta ahora.

Forden, el analista de armas del M.I.T. dijo que “el escenario que resulta más posible, es que la Gran Luz Parpadeante de Hangzhou fuese en realidad un misil balístico chino, el DF-21”

Quizás fue este misil. Pero también puede haber sido un nuevo y secreto avión o UAV (Vehículo Aéreo No-tripulado) que los chinos estuviesen probando.

Más aún, si sumamos los porcentajes del Ejercicio militar chino, el Satélite o avión espía extranjero, y el Fenómeno natural, ellos superan a la explicación de la Vida extraterrestre por un abrumador 30,98%, tomando en consideración de que hay un significativo 21, 66% que No tiene idea de lo que se trató.

A "U.F.O." IN MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY?

It happened on July 13, the same day and at the same moment in which the Uruguayan people gave a multitudinary reception to the soccer players of the national team that returned from South-Africa.

Thousands of people were there. Nadie vio nada especial

Flying over their heads there were TV helicopters, airplanes making publicity, and even the special fly-by of Air Force airplanes. And by the way, the military radar of the Air Force did not detectected anything anomalous.

But, someone had a cellular phone and apparently tried to get a picture of the multitude, but lo and behold!, when this person looked at the picture probably in his PC, realized that there was something in the air.

Why this person did not think that the something he was seen could be one of the helicopters that were flying over the area, seen from its bottom part and with certain angle? Or maybe something smaller and nearer?

Well, maybe because the person saw that and thought: what a wonderful “UFO”!

And yes, it could be initially classified as such provided it is agreed that the “U” of UFO means something that –for the moment—has not been identified, but that obviously, “UFO” does not mean extra-terrestrial vehicle.

Today, July 22, the news agency AFP published a report based on an interview with the UAPSG member Prof. Fernando Giménez.

The members of UAPSG in Montevideo are already working on the case, and we will provide the results of that work as soon as they are available.

¿UN "O.V.N.I. EN MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY?

Ocurrió el 13 de Julio, el mismo día y al mismo momento en que el pueblo uruguayo dio una multitudinaria recepción a los jugadores de fútbol del equipo nacional que retornaron de Sudáfrica.

Miles de personas estaban allí. Nadie vio nada especial.

Volando sobre sus cabezas había helicópteros de televisoras, aviones haciendo publicidad, y aún un especial sobrevuelo de aviones de la Fuerza Aérea. Y dicho sea de paso, el radar militar de la Fuerza Aérea no detectó nada anómalo.

Pero, alguien tenía un teléfono celular y aparentemente trató de obtener una foto de la multitud, y ¡oh sorpresa!, cuando esta persona miró la foto probablemente en su computadora, se dio cuenta que había algo en el aire.

¿Por qué esta persona no pensó que ese algo que estaba viendo era uno de los helicópteros que sobrevolaban el área, visto desde abajo y en cierto ángulo? ¿O quizás algo más pequeño y más cercano?

Bueno, quizás porque la persona vio eso y pensó: ¡qué maravilloso “OVNI”!

Y si, podría inicialmente clasificarse como tal siempre y cuando se esté de acuerdo en que la “NI” de OVNI significa algo que –por el momento—no ha sido identificado, pero que, obviamente, “OVNI” no significa vehículo extraterrestre.

Hoy, 22 de Julio, la agencia de noticias AFP publicó un informe basado en una entrevista con el miembro del GEFAI, el Prof. Fernando Giménez.

MAGIC vs. SCIENCE

The new gurus, the charlatans, the merchants, and the simple enthusiasts come together nowadays, to invoke the mystery, to call the masses to dream, to embrace with fervor the unknown, and to believe in aliens, without a single piece of reasoning, without using the brain, just believing against all the odds.

In other words, they are working with the elements of magic, with suggestion and tricks, with the dove under the sleeve or the bunny under the hat. And they get the applause.

The media –that looks at ratings and to sell more— prefers sensationalism to rationalism, prefers entertainment to serious approaches, prefers the spectacular instead of responsible information.

No wonder, therefore, those who play the magic card are winning the game.

They are the favorites of the irrationality, the promoters of a nonsensical activism aimed to demonstrate that quantity of anything on videos or pictures, is more important that the quality of a single piece of well documented, better registered, and superbly analyzed evidence.

But, we are not playing a game. We are serious people, really concerned to establish once and for all, with all the support of instruments, a meticulous and well-planned activity and the direct participation of scientists, the truth. Not a pre-conceived, pre-supposed “truth”, but the truth, whatever it could be; one that can afford and overcome the Occam’s razor; one with universal validity. One supported by irrefutable and strong evidence.

This is our task. This is our goal.

Any other thing outside this frame has nothing to do with a serious, responsible and rational approach to the Unusual Aerial Phenomena.

Not all of us are scientists, but there are scientists among us. And those of us who are not, respect and want to work together with the scientists and not against them, with the scientific method and not with magic
