Nuevo libro sobre OVNIs y los gobiernos

Nuestro amigo, el gran investigador y estudioso español del tema OVNI, Vicente-Juan Ballester Olmos, ha tenido a bien informarnos de la aparición de un nuevo libro que refiere al aspecto siempre importante de la actitud de los gobiernos respecto de los OVNIs.

El libro se titula: UFOs and Government: A Historical Inquiry (OVNIs y Gobierno: una Indagatoria Histórica). Si bien el libro se refiere preponderantemente al gobierno de Estados Unidos de América, también trata sobre los gobienos de Australia, España, Francia y Suecia.

El capítulo de España está a cargo de V-J Ballester Olmos, quien nos honra como miembro del UAPSG-GEFAI.

U.K. government declassifies new UFO files

The BritishNational Archives release 25 files regarding UFO sightings, including a jobdescription for the post of UFO desk officer, known to be the "weirdestjob in Whitehall."

Britain on July 12 released an archive of "X-Files" detailing government UFO briefings and probes into unexplained sightings, including one above Chelseafootball club.

The 25 files released by The National Archives include "a lengthy briefing on UFO policy to then prime minister Tony Blair's office" along with a job description for the post of UFO desk officer, described as the "weirdest job inWhitehall."

Accordingto an employee of the UFO desk, which closed in 2009, the perception that it consisted of "top secret teams of specialist scientists scurrying around the country in a real life version of the X-Files" was "total fiction."

Instead,daily duties included providing briefings on the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) position on UFOs, undertaking UFO investigations, handling Freedom of Information requests (FOIs) and managing UFOlogists (UFO "experts").

Among the stranger investigations included one into a UFO sighting by a policeo fficer at Chelsea football club and another into a visit by three "men in black" to a person who reported a UFO encounter in Lincolnshire, east England.

Accordingto the files, a hotel owner in Walesonce complained to her MP after a UFO landed in a field "from which two tall silver-suited 'faceless humanoids' emerged and began "making measurements'."

Also included in the files are details of a 1995 briefing by one of the MoD's UFO intelligence officers which speculated on why aliens would visit earth.

Despite having no hard evidence for alien craft, the officer explained that any visit would most likely be motivated by military reconnaissance, scientific development or tourism.

In a briefing prepared for the MoD in 1979, a UFO intelligence officer noted that no radio tracking systems had ever picked up any alien transmissions.

The release of the documents came after an FOI request by David Clarke, author of the book 'The UFO files' and a lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

"These records allow us to look behind the scenes of what must have been one of the strangest jobs in Whitehall" (shorthand for Britain's civil service), saidClarke.

"We now have a fascinating insight into some of the extraordinary reports and briefings which passed over the UFO Desk on a daily basis and how its officers used logic and science in their attempts to explain 'the unexplained'," he added.

Although it is said that they are 25 documents released, nevertheless ony 23 could be download to read. There is impossible to see: DEFE 24/1987/1 and DEFE 24/2078/1 where it is said: "The page cannot be found".

El gobierno británico desclasifica 25 nuevosdocumentos con supuestos avistamientos inexplicables

El gobierno británico ha desclasificado este jueves una serie de«expedientes X» con informes sobre avistamientos ovni,uno de ellos, un caso tan conocido como extravagante, ocurrido sobre el estadio del club de fútbol del Chelsea en 1999. Casi tan impactante como esto, o quizás aún más increíble, es que miembros del personal del ministerio de Defensa dedicados a estos asuntos creyeran que los extraterrestres podrían visitarnos con el objetivo de hacer un «reconocimiento militar», una «investigación científica» o «turismo».

Los 25 documentos hechos públicos por los Archivos Nacionales,incluyen «un extenso informe de la oficina del entonces primer ministro, Tony Blair, sobre la política en materia de ovnis», en lo que parece el trabajo más extraño jamás realizado por el servicio civil británico. Esta oficina dedicada a la ufología se cerró en 2009.

En un archivo publicado en 1995 uno de los agentes señalaba que el propósito de las visitas extraterrestres debería ser esclarecido «de forma prioritaria»,añadiendo que los alienígenas no parecen seres hostiles.De igual forma, apuntaba que tenemos «un cometido que nunca hemos satisfecho.No sabemos si los ovnis existen (...) Si existen, no sabemos qué son, ni su propósito o si representan una amenaza para Reino Unido». En este punto,sostenía que sus objetivos podían ser militares, científicos o incluso¡turísticos!

El acceso público a estos documentos que, aunque no terminen por confirmarla existencia de ninguna visita extraterrestre bien pueden servir para conocer la imaginación y las creencias de los británicos, se ha producido después de una solicitud de Libertad de información por parte de David Clarke, autor de un libro sobre los archivos ovni y profesor de la Universidad de Sheffield Hallam. «Estos archivos nos permiten ver qué había detrás de uno de los más extraños trabajos de Whitehall (el servicio civil británico)», ha dicho Clarke.«Ahora tenemos a nuestra disposición una información fascinante de algunos delos informes que se hacían a diario en esta oficina y cómo sus agentes han utilizado la lógica y la ciencia en sus intentos de explicar lo inexplicable».

U.A.P issue will be discussed in Montevideo

When Montevideans meet this Wednesday 11, from 7PM to 8:30PM at the “Decano” barbecue and pizza parlor (Orinoco St. and Michigan St. – Malvín) they will have the special opportunity to discuss freely about many topics related with the Unusual Aerial Phenomena .

Thematic Cafe about UFOs in Montevideo

Messrs. German Vazquez and Rafael Forli are two UAPSG members in Uruguay. 

They have had the initiative to develop a “Thematic Cafe”, opening a space for a dialogue with all the people interested in UFOs.

The second of these meetings will take place on Wednesday, July 11 from 7PM to 8:30PM at the barbecue and pizza parlor “Decano” in Orinoco St. intersection with Michigan St. in the Malvin neighborhood of Montevideo.

The consumption –at least a coffee—is a personal responsibility of the participants.

This is a different experience in Montevideo city that joins those done in other countries.

We encourage to attend the meeting to all those seriously interested in the UAP subject. Certainly there is a lot to be dealt with.

This helps to get to know each other in a personal way, overcoming the contact through the Internet.

We wish and foresee a good meeting!

Café Temático sobre OVNIs en Montevideo

Germán Vázquez y Rafael Forli, son dos miembros del GEFAI en Uruguay.

Ellos han tenido la iniciativa de llevar adelante un “Café Temático”, abriendo un diálogo abierto con todos los interesados en el tema OVNI.

La segunda de estas reuniones tendrá lugar el Miércoles 11 de Julio, de 19 a 20 y 30 horas, en la parrillada y pizzería “Decano”, en la calle Orinoco esquina Michigan (Malvín).

La consumición –al menos un café—corre por cuenta de cada uno de los participantes.

Es una experiencia distinta para la ciudad de Montevideo, que se suma a las que ya se realizan en otros países.

Desde aquí exhortamos a concurrir, a quienes se interesan seriamente en el tema. Por cierto que hay mucho para conversar.

Es una forma de conocerse, y de vencer la conexión impersonal y distante por la Internet, para propiciar un encuentro en vivo y en directo entre todos quienes concurran.
