This time he sent us a small but substantious work entitled Causes & Effects, giving three cases where it is first shown the cause, and afterwards the effect.

This is a very illustrative material that on the one hand shows how there are many irresponsible people that put on the Internet what is declared by themselves a “UFO”.

On the second hand, it shows brilliantly how people could get confused and how they made a twisted interpretation of the reality, just because they tend to think in terms of the cultural patters that have been provided by the media.

CAUSA Y EFECTO

El Licenciado Leopoldo Zambrano Enríquez, un miembro del GEFAI en Monterrey, México, es un frecuente colaborador de este blog.

Esta vez nos ha enviado un pequeño pero sustancioso trabajo titulado
Causas y Efectos, presentando tres casos donde primero se muestra la causa, y luego el efecto.

Este es un material muy ilustrativo que, por un lado, muestra cómo hay personas irresponsables que ponen en la internet lo que ellas mismas declaran ser un “OVNI”.

En segundo luar, muestra brillantemente cómo las personas se pueden confundir y cómo hacen una interpretación retorcida de la realidad, simplemente porque tienden a pensar en términos de los patrones culturales que les han sido provistos por los medios de comunicación.

BRAZIL: DISCLOSURE OF UFO FILES

The news are of today, Wednesday, August 11, 2010. The Brazilian government ordered the disclosure of the Brazilian Air Force UFO files.

An exemple that should be followed by Air Forces and official agencies of other countries.

Here are the news:

RIO DE JANEIRO - (AP) Brazil has ordered its air force to document any UFO sightings and make the data available to researchers and the public.

A decree in the official gazette says the air force will register any sightings by military and commercial pilots, along with air traffic controllers.

A spokesman says the air force has UFO archives dating back decades, but there had been no official order on what to do with the material. The spokesman could not be named under air force rules.

All past and future data — whether written reports, photos or video — will be processed by the air force and then housed in the National Archives in Rio de Janeiro.

In the decree published Tuesday, the air force says it will periodically submit UFO reports.

BRASIL: APERTURA DE ARCHIVOS OVNI

La información es de este miércoles 11 de Agosto de 2010. El gobierno de Brasil decretó que la Fuerza Aérea de ese país, abra sus archivos-OVNI.

Ejemplo que deberían seguir Fuerzas Aéreas y organismos oficiales de otros países.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) - La fuerza aérea brasileña llevará en adelante un registro de todas las apariciones de objetos voladores no identificados, el cual estará a disposición de los investigadores, se informó el miércoles.

Un decreto publicado en el boletín oficial del gobierno dijo que la fuerza aérea llevará el registro de denuncias de OVNIs por parte de pilotos comerciales y militares, así como de controladores aéreos.

Los datos, sean denuncias escritas, fotos o video, pasarán previamente por el centro de documentación de la fuerza aérea.

Un vocero de la fuerza aérea dijo que los documentos, una vez catalogados, irán al Archivo Nacional en Río de Janeiro, donde el material es accesible al público en general.

En el decreto firmado por el brigadier Juniti Saito, la fuerza aérea dice que enviará "periódicamente" informes al centro de documentación.

CHURCHILL and the UFOs

In 1952, U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill took the threat of UFOs so seriously that he ordered a report on "flying saucers," according to files released today by the country's National Archives in conjunction with a three-year project with the Ministry of Defense.

The details outlined in 5,000 pages of reports range from wacky to intriguing, and includes dozens of reported sightings.

In one letter included in the files, a man alleges Churchill ordered a coverup of a WW II-era UFO encounter involving the Royal Air Force.

The grandson of a former RAF crew member writes of an incident in the early days of World War II, in which an RAF aircraft intercepted an unknown flying object. The man claims that Churchill, after a meeting with U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower, made a declaration to keep the event top secret to avoid mass panic. A Ministry of Defense investigated the claim in 1999, but found no written record of it.

The 18 files contain UFO-related letters, reports, parliamentary questions and drawings the Ministry of Defense dealt with between 1995 and 2003. One report describes a man who made a 100-1 bet with bookmaker Ladbrokes that aliens would be discovered by the end of the century.

When Ladbrokes refused to pay, he went to the Ministry of Defense for proof of extraterrestrial life. While their response stated they were open-minded about the subject, they had no proof of alien existence.

In 1996 UFO sightings peaked, with more than 600 reported. Coincidentally, the television show "The X Files" was also very popular that year.

Dr. David Clarke, a UFO consultant to the National Archives, explained to the BBC why the papers are being made public now.

"Since the Freedom of Information Act arrived in 2005, this subject - UFOs - have become the third-most popular subject for people to write to the Ministry of Defense saying 'please could you release this file, or papers that you hold on this particular case.'" Clarke told the BBC.

"What they've decided to do is to be totally open and to say, 'look we're not holding any secrets back about this subject we've got all these files and we're going to make them available to the public'
